This study intends to empirically analyze the factors affecting the performance creation of social economy organizations. By examining the factors influencing external support for social and economic organizations and the regional-oriented institutional environment, we tried to differentiate it from existing studies through a life cycle approach. As a result of the analysis, we found that the qualitative improvement of the social economy organization support system is necessary in that the activation of external support lowers the economic performance of the social economy organization. On the other hand, the more active organization field, the higher the economic performance. Therefore, it was confirmed that the need for interaction and networking between organizations and the establishment of a social economy ecosystem for a solid financial foundation was confirmed. Analysis by life cycle showed that external support actually lowered economic performance in social economy organizations in the growth and maturation stages, suggesting that government support oriented social economy fostering policies have a negative effect on organizational self-reliance. The activation of the organization field enhance the economic performance of social economy organizations in the maturity and crisis stages and the social performance of social economy organizations in the growth stage. Therefore, it is suggested that policy design considering the institutional environment and differentiation of policies for each life cycle is necessary for the actual independence and growth of social economic organizations.
