The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the factors affecting the expansion of government functions in relation to the acceptability and necessity of technology in the 4th Industrial Revolution. In addition, we looked at the effect of government-scale adjustment in the relationship between technology acceptability and necessity and the expansion of government functions. According to the analysis, the higher the acceptability and necessity of the technology of the fourth industrial revolution, the more positive it is to expand the government's functions. On the other hand, the positive impact of technology acceptability on the expansion of government functions is shown to weaken as the size of government is smaller. Through this analysis, this work is of theoretical significance in that it applied the technology acceptance model from an administrative perspective to the relationship between the introduction of science and technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and government scale and government functions. Furthermore, it raises the public's awareness of the acceptability and necessity of science and technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and presents policy implications for efficient reduction of government size and effective expansion of government functions.
