The purpose of this study is to examine first-person subject usage patterns in Korean self-introduction text from the perspective of the episode model. For this purpose, this study constructed a sample corpus with fifteen self-introduction texts written by native Korean speakers in their twenties, and analyzed the usage patterns of first-person subject from the point of view of the episode model. As a result of analysis, this study shows that native Korean speakers mainly use first-person subject to indicate the beginning and transition of the stage in written discourse. In addition, the appearance of first-person subject can be partially replaced by lexical devices that indicate the relationship between stages. Lastly, it is confirmed that there are other devices that make up for the ellipsis of first-person subject in addition to the lexical devices that indicate the relationship between stages. This study is meaningful in that the result can be used for self-introduction text education targeting various learners and mechanical processing of semantic units of self-introduction text.
