A mathematical model for determining the optimal noise barrier arrangement was developed to manage con-struction noise during earthwork considering the reduction of health damage to people near construction sites exposed to construction noise, productivity loss, and costs. Spatiotemporal data for heavy equipment were used as input variables to reflect the actual heavy equipment activity. Then, the applicability of the mathematical model and the necessity of using spatiotemporal data was verified via a case study. The optimal noise barrier arrangement reduced health damage at 1.413 x 10-3 disability-adjusted life years (26.7%) per day by paying only a productivity loss of 27.54m3 (6.2%) and costs of USD 303.84. Furthermore, the spatiotemporal data can minimize overestimation of health damage reduction and underestimation of productivity loss, thereby pre-venting unforeseen economic damage to construction companies. Consequently, the optimal noise barrier arrangement is expected to be helpful both to the construction company and the people near construction sites.
