- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to examine the usage patterns of ‘NP+ui+NP’ in the texts written by Spanish-speaking Korean learners. For this purpose, this study established a theoretical basis by contrasting the Korean case marker ‘ui’ and the Spanish preposition ‘de’, and then constructed a sample corpus using the Korean learners' written corpus of the National Institute of Korean Language. The result of the analysis shows that Spanish-speaking Korean learners use ‘NP+ui+NP’ more frequently as the level increases. ‘Ui’ is often used in the meaning of possession, which is basic meaning, but ‘ui’ is used in more diverse meanings in the advanced level. In addition, it is confirmed that beginner learners frequently use the composition of ‘personal pronoun+ui’. This study also finds some negetive effects of Spanish in the usage patterns of ‘NP+ui+NP’, however the overusing of ‘ui’, which is predicted by the grammatical contrast does not appear. The result of grammatical contrast of ‘ui’ and ‘de’ and sample corpus analysis accomplished in this study can be used as base data for follow-up research and Korean language education for Spanish-speaking Korean learners.
